EA SPORTS FC 27 is here. Following early access, which began on September 18, Electronic Arts’ new soccer game officially launches on September 25, 2026, for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
But this time, EA isn’t looking to sell just another soccer season. One of its biggest changes is outside the stadium.
THE GROUNDS: THE NEW SOCIAL SPACE
One of FC 27’s main new features is The Grounds, a social space designed to connect different ways of playing soccer.
The idea is to take the experience beyond traditional matches, letting players enjoy an environment where street soccer and stadium soccer come together. EA has also developed new experiences for players joining the franchise for the first time.
This matters because EA is trying to make sure FC 27 doesn’t rely solely on Ultimate Team or Career Mode to keep players engaged.
MORE SOCCER AND MORE CONTENT
EA SPORTS FC 27 features more than 21,000 soccer players, over 800 clubs and national teams, around 140 stadiums, and more than 35 leagues, thanks to its partnerships with over 300 organizations in world soccer.
EA has also made changes to various modes and game systems based on community feedback.
The company is also keeping Football Ultimate Team, Career, Clubs, and other familiar experiences, while seeking to expand the ways to play with new features.

The launch also shows how EA is trying to turn EA SPORTS FC into something bigger than an annual video game.
With seasonal content, social experiences, Ultimate Team, and new ways to monetize, the franchise is increasingly operating as a digital soccer platform designed to keep players active all year round.
