If you're one of those who wait until August to discover new games, trailers, and announcements, there's a date you need to mark on your calendar: Gamescom 2026.
The event will bring together a good portion of the video game industry in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to 30, although the action will begin a day earlier with the traditional Opening Night Live, on August 25.
And this year promises a lot.
When is Gamescom 2026?
The 2026 edition will take place from August 26 to 30. However, the big kick-off for those following the event from home will be August 25 with Opening Night Live.
This show will once again be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will serve as one of the major showcases for new trailers, announcements, and gameplay of upcoming video games.
Opening Night Live Schedule
The event will start at:
- 🇲🇽 Mexico: 11:30 a.m.
- 🇨🇴 🇵🇪 🇪🇨 Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador: 12:30 p.m.
- 🇻🇪 🇧🇴 Venezuela and Bolivia: 1:30 p.m.
- 🇦🇷 🇨🇱 🇺🇾 Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay: 2:30 p.m.
The broadcast will feature a pre-show and then the main event, which will last approximately two hours.
What games could we see?
Gamescom usually becomes one of the year's big moments to learn more about upcoming games, and this edition will be no different.
Among the titles that are part of the announced coverage are games such as Fable, Crimson Desert, Persona 4 Revival, Alien: Isolation 2, Control Resonant, and Dune: Awakening.
Xbox will also have a significant presence during the event, with over 20 games planned for its Gamescom space, including titles such as Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, and Alien: Isolation 2.
This means we could have a good number of trailers, demos, and new announcements for several days.
The event doesn't end with Opening Night Live
One of the most interesting things about Gamescom is that the activity continues throughout the week.
From August 26 to 30, there will be presentations, interviews with developers, demos, and various broadcasts related to the games that will be present in Cologne.
In addition, Gamescom has an official program that allows you to consult the games and activities that will be available during the event.
Where to watch Gamescom 2026?
If you can't travel to Germany, don't worry. A good portion of the announcements and broadcasts can be followed online through platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, as well as the official channels of the organizers and specialized media.
And for gamers in Latin America, there's a good reason to pay attention: Gamescom 2026 arrives just in a week packed with big news, including the eagerly awaited preview of GTA 6 on August 27.
So get the popcorn ready, because between Gamescom, new games, and the big announcements we don't know about yet, the last week of August promises to be wild for the gaming community. 🎮🔥
